THE FASCINATING NT GUNBY HALL and GARDENS with AFTERNOON in SKEGNESS, LINCOLNSHIRE

We travel this morning to Gunby Hall a country house built in 1700 and set in beautiful Victorian walled gardens at the foot of the Lincolnshire Wolds. Explore three floors of the house which are filled with furniture and art, with guides in the rooms relating the history of the house and the Massingberd family who lived here. Step into the beautiful gardens with sheltered corners, wild-flower areas, sweeping lawns and Gunby’s Victorian walled garden, lovely at this time of year. A short walk will discover St Peter’s Church and the Icehouse Pond or venture further afield to Monksthorpe Chapel. There is a small tearoom serving tea or coffee and home baking (no lunches) and a shop selling gifts and souvenirs. We continue our journey to spend the remainder of the day at Skegness, have a late lunch or afternoon tea at one of the many cafes.
