BURFORD in the COTSWOLDS & NT BUSCOT PARK with the PETRO WATER GARDENS
Saturday 19th June
We travel to the beautiful town of Burford with a comfort stop at Stowe on the Wolds. Burford famous high street sweeps downhill to the river Windrush crossed by a medieval bridge. The Church of St John’ is very impressive with many interesting memorials charting Burford’s great families. There are many shops and a variety of restaurants, cafes and pubs for lunchtime refreshments. We continue to Buscot Park the family home of Lord Faringdon who looks after the Faringdon Collection and the property on behalf of the NT. The 18th century House is set in enchanting, landscaped grounds. Explore the extensive pleasure gardens, steep in places, including the Petro Water Gardens designed by Harold Petro. There are Tea Rooms providing a selection of cakes, scones and hot and cold drinks with a gift shop selling a range of products and garden plants.
