The splendid gothic castle of
Cholmondeley stands dramatically on
a hill surrounded by sweeping lawns,
magnificent trees in the Autumn
shades of red and gold, and beautiful,
landscaped gardens. Follow the Nature
Trail, an absorbing walk around the deer
park and Mere, which has extensive
bird and waterfowl population including
freshwater fish. The Tea Rooms offer an
assortment of freshly made sandwiches,
a wide selection of cakes, traybakes,
coffee, teas, and a choice of cold drinks.
They also sell a broad selection of gifts.

This morning, we travel for a celebration of all
thing’s autumn at the beautiful 58-acre garden
of Harlow Carr. Sitting in the beautiful Yorkshire
countryside, the garden offers a variety of
growing landscapes, from running and still water,
to woodland and wildflower meadows. Highlights
include the lavish Main Borders, bursting with
generous prairie-style planting, and the lush,
moisture-loving plants around Streamside ablaze
with autumn colour. Enjoy refreshments and
shopping at the famous Bettys Shop and Tea
Rooms located next to the garden entrance and
Bettys Tea House is located inside the garden.
Near the Kitchen Garden, discover the Harrogate
Arms Café, serving a fresh, seasonal menu
inspired by produce grown in the Kitchen Garden.
Access is through the main garden entrance.
