THE WONDERFUL GARDENS of RHS BRIDGEWATER
Saturday 5th July
These glorious gardens set in the historic landscape of the former grounds of Worsley New Hall in Salford, are now transformed to a stunning 154-acre garden. We start our visit at the Welcome Building, with a shop, café for refreshments and toilets. You are rewarded with spectacular views over Moon Bridgewater, a beautiful 1.4-acre lake. Pick up a map and start your garden visits from here, strolling along the Long Walk to the Weston Walled Garden and Worsley Welcome Garden and the Kitchen Garden. Do not miss, the Chinese Streamside Garden, where the pretty stream meanders from Ellesmere Lake to Moonbridge Water. Along the water course, there are a series of smaller pools and weirs crossed over by wooden bridges. Return to the Welcome Building for refreshments at Bridgewater Café, Stables Café or Garden Cottage Shepard’s Hut. The Cafes can be very busy, especially at lunchtime, why not take a picnic? Before you leave visit the Garden Centre with a great range of plants and homeware for sale.
Comfortable footwear is advised.
