THE AUTUMN SPLENDOUR of WESTONBIRT ARBORETUM and TETBURY

Saturday 18th October

We visit the Elizabethan market town of Tetbury with its fine buildings, cafes and restaurants for refreshments and toilets.  We continue to Westonbirt, home to 2,500 different species and 5 national tree collections, the perfect place for you to escape and take a walk through an incredible landscape of scarlet, orange and gold this autumn.  A must visit is Acer Glade in the Old Arboretum, Maple Loop in Silk Wood and the national collection for maples.  Take a journey up into the canopy on the STIHL Tree Top Walkway or if you venture into the deep dark wood you may bump into the Gruffalo, the Gruffalo’s child and other characters from the book by following the Gruffalo Trail.  There is a restaurant, a café for refreshments and a shop. We check into the Welcome Centre, where you can pick up information about walks and maps.  A shuttle service is available for visitors who need assistance from the Centre to the restaurant, shop and edge of the Old Arboretum.  Wheelchairs and mobility scooters are available from the Welcome Building, but please notify on booking if required.
