Saturday 21st August NT QUARRY BANK one of BRITAIN’S GREAT INDUSTRIAL HERITAGE SITES

The early Industrial Revolution changed our world forever.  At Quarry Bank you can discover a complete industrial community and experience the very different worlds of owner and worker, who lived and worked here side by side.  Samuel Greg, the founder of Quarry Bank, arrived in England from Belfast as a young boy and went on to founder a cotton empire.  Explore Quarry Bank House, the home of the mill owner and join tours of the Apprentice House and workers cottages and wander through the colourful gardens and woodlands.  The Weaving Shed Restaurant now offers you a place to relax and enjoy a delicious meal, light lunch or a slice of cake in the Garden café.  In the mill and garden shops, you will find a range of gifts, homeware and garden products.
