We travel to Castle Howard one of Britain’s finest historic houses, built over 300 years ago by Sir John Vanbrugh, today it remains home to the Howard family.  On your journey tea, coffee and biscuits are served by our hostess.  Discover the house at your own pace, admiring its awe-inspiring architecture, interiors and world-renowned collections, with knowledgeable guides on hand to share stories of the house, family and artwork.  Castle Howard’s 1000 acres of parkland are a mixture of sweeping vistas, lakeside terraces, woodlands, temples and statues and formal gardens.  Later, it is time for Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea served in the beautiful Grecian Hall including homemade seasonal savouries, sandwiches, cakes and scones with tea or coffee served using fine china and silverware by attentive waiting staff.  Leave time to browse the shops, including farm shop, gift shop and garden centre after a wonderful day.
