There is a vast choice of friendly cafe bars and restaurants for refreshments.  Liverpool is extremely proud of its two magnificent cathedrals, the Anglican Cathedral, the largest in Britain and the Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King.  Why not board a ferry to cross the Mersey or catch an open top bus for a tour of this wonderful city.
