THE GUIDE DOGS TRAINING SCHOOL TOUR and LEAMINGTON SPA and GARDENS
We travel to the Guide Dogs Training School at Leamington Spa this morning which started in 1941 and today trains 220 dogs a year. We would like to invite you to take part in the Guide Dogs experience and learn about their life-changing work. Find out how it all began and how they train a guide dog, meet the dogs; bring your camera and take a picture of your favourite, discover more about sight loss, experience a blindfold walk, ask a trained tour guide anything you’d like to know about Guide Dogs and meet a guide dog owner or puppy walker. Towards the end of the tour you'll have the opportunity to purchase gifts and pet products from the shop. This afternoon we continue to Leamington Spa an elegant town offering Georgian and Victorian architecture, tree-lined avenues and glorious gardens. The magnificent Royal Pump Rooms are now a cultural and tourism complex, housing the town's Museum, Art Gallery, Library and Tourist Information Centre. The Jephson Gardens are Grade II listed and of horticultural excellence, including a sensory garden, a temperate glasshouse and a riverside restaurant plus a Victorian tearoom. Leamington town centre combines a treasure-trove of independent shops, specialist boutiques and all the national chain stores for the shopaholic’s.
